The perfect day out for steam enthusiasts
Bronwydd Arms Station on the Gwili Railway is about a 45-minute drive from Ferryside. The railway is one of the UK’s most picturesque preserved lines, set in beautiful countryside with abundant wildlife. It follows the River Gwili on a steady uphill journey through farmland and wooded hillsides and is 4 miles long to Abergwilli Junction and Danycoed Halt. At Bronwydd, you can visit the working signalbox and gift shop, while at Llwyfan Cerrig you can ride on the miniature railway and picnic alongside the river. You can enjoy afternoon tea in the dining car on certain days during July and August or occasional themed Thomas the Tank Engine Days throughout the year.
