Situated on the ground floor near the end of the corridor, this double room is individually decorated in a palette of blues to reflect the sea. Offering a high level of accessibility, the room accommodates a maximum of two people and has a comfortable divan double bed.
The room is a total of 22 sqm in size, with a 39” TV. Quality room furnishings are in oak and include two bedside tables, a wardrobe, a dressing table and stool and an armchair.
A set of folding chairs and table is provided to allow you to eat takeaways in your room during Covid restrictions
The modern and spacious en-suite wet room has a level-floor shower to provide luxurious facilities for all.
Leading off the bedroom is an enclosed patio area, with a small table and chairs. We welcome dogs to Calon y Fferi, and this room is dog friendly (1 large or 2 small).
The room features an original poem by local artist Dominic Williams, along with some of his photography. The poem was translated into Welsh by Clare Potter.

For those who prefer a heartier start to the day, the on-site restaurant, Pryd O Fwyd, serves a cooked breakfast, Wednesday to Saturday from 10.30am. Alternatively, a short stroll into the village will also bring you to the local café, The Ferry Cabin which (closed Thursday and Sunday), please check for current opening times.
Cots for babies and young toddlers are provided free-of-charge

The reception, restaurant and accommodation are all on the ground floor with level access.
Doorways are 110 cm wide for wheelchair access.
All signage has Braille as well as English.
The level-access wet-room shower is equipped with grab rails, an emergency pull switch and wheelchair-accessible basin.

About Dominic Williams
Dominic was born in southeast Wales but has made Ferryside his home since 1998.
He lectures in Humanities and Performing Arts at the University of Wales. A poet, a performer and creative mentor, Dominic is one half of the improvised spoken-word and movement act Your Strangest Friend with contemporary dancer Stina Nilsson and part of the FYD Collective, an international group of contemporary artists. His poetry is published in online journals and in the anthologies Red Lamp, Black Piano and Between Somewhere and Nowhere and has been translated into Welsh, Spanish and Swedish. His photo-essay is published in the chap book K. Dominic’s first poetry collection and why we were all going was published in 2017, and a further collection Galen man på tåget was published in Swedish in 2021. He has also produced a book of creative non-fiction, inspired by letters exchanged between punks in the 1980s.
Dominic’s poetry collections and the local history book that he edited, Carmarthen, are available for sale from the centre. Dominic has worked with Disability Arts Cymru, Wales’ national disability art charity, for over ten years and was the chairman of the board of trustees in 2016.
The poem exhibited in this room, Calon y Bore, was written as an interpretation of a series of images from a walk on Ferryside marshes and beach. The poem captures the hope and optimism of a good day during the recovery process from an extended period of depression and anxiety.
