Calon y Fferi welcomes guests who have additional access needs
We have five hotel rooms with high levels of accessibility, each with en-suite shower rooms.
As well as making our building as accessible as possible, we have various extra equipment available for your use to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to make use of any extra equipment so that we can reserve it for you.
If you need to hire a wheelchair or mobility scooter for your stay, we can provide you with contact details for local equipment hire companies, receive delivery and store it safely for you until you arrive.

* Electric profiling bed (similar to hospital bed) – available by advance request

* Oxford mobile hoist (you must provide your own sling) – available by advance request
* Shower-wheelchair (user or attendant propelled) – available by advance request; also doubles as toileting chair or commode
* Lockable medicine fridge for room – available by advance request

– Bed safety rails and grab rails for mobility needs – available on request
– Vibrating alarm pads (these can link to our fire alarm system) – available on request
– Kettle tipper: cradle for kettle to aid lifting/pouring – available on request

The Dorothy Morris Suite has a double bed, plus 2 single beds, one with a half wall between for privacy. There is plenty of room for wheelchair access.
If you require extra room, we can remove one of the single beds.
Opening directly from the bedroom is a large shower wet-room. The toilet is raised and has grab rails either side. There are wall-mounted grab rails by the washbasin. An emergency assistance alarm cord sounds an alarm in the bedroom and in the reception office. This can also be connected to our fire alarm dialler system out of hours.
Also opening directly from the bedroom is an enclosed patio with a small patio set (table and chairs). The patio is gated at either side to allow access from it to the paved path around the building.
The bed can be swapped for an electric profiling bed, and there is room to use our mobile hoist around it.
The flooring is vinyl to allow for easy cleaning, and pet dogs are welcomed in this room (1 large or 2 small). Please ask us for pet bedding or towels for after muddy walks!
The Dominic Williams Suite has a double bed.
The bed can be swapped for an electric profiling bed single bed and a standard single divan, and there is room to use our mobile hoist around it.

The art work includes a poem written in English by Dominic Williams and translated into Welsh by Clare Potter. Both are available as a reading by the artists as a video/audio available via the smart TV.

The Jim Greer Suite has a twin/zip-link bed that can be either a kingsize or two single beds.

Also opening directly from the bedroom is an enclosed patio with a small patio set (table and chairs). The patio has a gate to allow access from it to the paved path around the building.
The art work in this room is a back-lit glass work designed and created by Jim Greer.
This room has a hearing loop fitted as standard.

The Dylski Suite has a twin/zip-link bed that can be either a kingsize or two single beds.
Opening directly from the bedroom is an en-suite shower room with a low-profile shower tray.
This room is carpeted, and pets are not allowed in order to ensure that the room is free from pet-related allergens (assistance dogs are always welcomed).
The Ken Day Suite has a twin/zip-link bed that can be either a kingsize or two single beds.
Opening directly from the bedroom is an en-suite shower room with a low-profile shower tray.
This room is carpeted, and pets are not allowed in order to ensure that the room is free from pet-related allergens (assistance dogs are always welcomed).
Guests can be assured that rooms are completely sanitised between stays for your safety.
We have attained a GOOD TO GO certificate for your extra assurance.
